NEW SOLUTIONS

"Only a new seed will yield a new crop.

Only with new knowledge and a new approach can we achieve the age-old desire for peace."

- Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

Most social programs attempt to solve problems from the outside in—through new policies, regulations, or external interventions, the outward effects of a problem are addressed. While these methods can help manage symptoms, they often fail to reach the root cause. Akanksha Welfare Foundation embraces a more effective and lasting approach: working from the inside out.

This means awakening the deepest level of human potential—consciousness itself—and creating more coherent and orderly brain functioning in individuals. The key lies in the regular practice of Transcendental Meditation and the TM-Sidhi Program, including the formation of large Creating-Coherence Groups.

These groups generate a powerful influence of harmony and peace not just for the individuals practicing, but for society as a whole. Inner transformation leads to outer transformation. When people experience clarity, peace, and well-being within, their actions and communities reflect the same. This is the new solution: sustainable change from the level of consciousness.

COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH

MENTAL HEALTH

We address mental health at its root—by reducing stress and restoring inner balance. Through the Transcendental Meditation technique and Consciousness-Based Education, we help individuals experience greater calm, creativity and mental clarity. These simple yet profound practices support psychological well-being naturally, empowering people to live healthier, more fulfilled lives.

COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT

By combining inner transformation through meditation with outer empowerment through education, protection of culture, livelihood support, and infrastructure development, we aim to uplift every aspect of life. Our goal is to help individuals and communities become self-sufficient, peaceful, and prosperous—from within and without.

PROTECTION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE

We are committed to preserving and revitalizing the timeless wisdom of Vedic knowledge. Through the training of Vedic Pandits, the support of ashrams, and the integration of Ayurveda and traditional sciences in modern education, we protect India’s rich spiritual heritage—ensuring it continues to serve humanity with practical tools for inner peace and enlightenment.

SOCIETAL WELL-BEING

Lasting peace begins with the individual. By organizing large Creating-Coherence Groups of TM and TM-Sidhi practitioners, we generate measurable effects of harmony and reduced societal stress. This scientifically validated approach promotes peace through a rising tide of coherence in collective consciousness—radiating peace throughout the world.

WHAT IS COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS?

Just as the consciousness of an individual determines the quality of his thought and behavior, so also there exists another type of consciousness for a society as a whole; a collective consciousness for each family, city, state, or nation, having its own reality and the possibility of development.

The fundamental force governing the quality of social life, according to Maharishi, is the collective consciousness of society. The collective consciousness of a social group is the wholeness of consciousness of the entire group.

True peace cannot be imposed—it must be generated from within the collective consciousness of society. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi introduced a revolutionary principle: when as little as the square root of 1% of a population practices Transcendental Meditation (TM) and the TM-Sidhi Program, a powerful field of coherence is created in the environment. This phenomenon, known as the Maharishi Effect, has been shown in numerous scientific studies to reduce crime rates, social unrest, and even violence in war-torn regions.

This is not just a theory—it’s a proven technology for peace, grounded in the laws of nature and verified through decades of research in fields like sociology, psychology, and physics.

A SCIENTIFIC APPROACH

The benefits of this technology for mind, body, behavior, and society have been documented by more than 650 scientific research studies.

TRANSCENDENTAL MEDITATION

Transcendental Meditation (TM) is a simple, natural and effortless technique practiced for 20 minutes twice a day, sitting comfortably with the eyes closed. TM has a wide range of proven benefits for the mind, body, behavior, and for society as a whole.

TM-SIDDHI PROGRAM

The Transcendental Meditation technique allows the active mind to settle down to experience the source of thought. The advanced TM-Sidhi program develops the ability to think and act from this quietest and most powerful level of the mind.

...and growing

We are rapidly expanding our initiatives across India and will be soon reaching 5 million individuals through Consciousness-Based Education. Large coherence groups — gatherings of 10,000 or more people practicing the TM and TM-Sidhi Program together in one place — are key to generating widespread harmony and peace in collective consciousness. As both individual and group practice grow, we move closer to our vision of a more peaceful, healthy, and awakened India—and a better world for all.

INSPIRATIONAL STORIES

What I felt during meditation was a really great experience - there was a sense of peace coming over me, and I felt really happy coming out of meditation. I also noticed some changes in my behavior - I was always was always getting angry for little things, but after doing this meditation even for only four days I could see changes - I have this attitude now that these little things matter anymore, and my mood is better.

Nikita P. - School student

Since I have started this Meditation Program, my health has improved a lot. Earlier I used to have so much headache and now I don't have it anymore. My health is very good and my mind feels so light. I'm so grateful for this Knowledge you have given us."

Sarita D. - Himalayan Devi

"Ever since I have learned the TM Siddhi Program and Yogic Flying, I have been experiencing a lot of happiness. There have been many changes in the family as well, for example, earlier we were in a lot of debt. But since I have received this Knowledge, we are recovering from this debt. I also feel that it is a blessing of the master that I am so healthy and energetic to do my work even at this age. I'm so happy to have received this knowledge."

Mamta D. - Himalayan Devi

There will come a time, there will come a time – and I wish it comes tomorrow, tonight – when schools, colleges, universities, where at least 5 or 10% of the whole population is spending time earning knowledge.  They can have a period of Yogic Flying, and then no money would be needed.  The children flying in their classes will automatically create a coherent atmosphere.  No money would be needed.  But it’s needed NOW!
